Decor India is a weekend desk on Indian interiors — written in plain English, edited for sources, and free to read.
What we cover
The slow craft of decorating: materials and where they age well, objects and how to arrange them, styles named and unnamed, seasons and festivals, and the small upcycles that keep a piece of furniture in service across three address changes. We cover the living room and the verandah, the bedside and the puja corner. We do not cover what is in fashion this week.
How we write
Every piece starts from primary sources: interviews with practising decorators, makers, and artisans; established design-history scholarship; and the desk's own hands-on tests. We name our sources. Where a recommendation is sponsored, we say so. Where we have a personal connection to a maker, we disclose it in the piece.
Independent
We accept no editorial briefs from furniture brands, paint companies, or marketplaces. Display ads are clearly labelled. The desk decides what runs.
